That was the first time the audience heard the word of the title 'tintinnabuli'. The musical works were on that occasion performed with antique old instruments and marked the beginning of Arvo Pärt's new creative style, becoming the pillars of the composer's tintinnabuli music. The soloist is soprano Maria Valdmaa who has acquired master's degree of baroque song in the Royal Conservatory of the Hague. She also participated in last year's Nargenfestival as one of the main characters in the opera about Bernhard Schmidt 'An enlightened disciple of darkness'. |
