This year's traditional Arvo Pärt Days' concert will reach not only his home town  Rakvere but also Hiiumaa island and – for the first time – Narva. The composer's most large-scale choir piece Kanon pokajanen will sound in the churches performed by Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir under its head conductor Kaspars Putniņš. 
The work created for a Church Slavic text of a repentance canon has enchanted the audiences with its eternal theme prayers from the day of its creation in 1997 and has been noted by the critics. The piece's recording (ECM New Series) by Estonian Philharmoic Chamber Choir was nominated for a best contemporary work Grammy and accoladed by reputable music magazines Gramophone and BBC Music Magazine.
