06.06 SAAREMAA ISLAND, 6 June 7 pm, Kuressaare kuursaal (resort hall) CYRILLUS KREEK DAYS 2019: VILLAGE THROATS CYRILLUS KREEK DAYS 2019 in Haapsalu, on Hiiumaa and Saaremaa islands This is already the 13th Cyrillus Kreek's Days in Nargenfestival, heralding the beginning of summer, keeping alive the works of the prominent Estonian composer for his hometown's people and searching for a novel perspective for his rich musical heritage. This summer Kreek's music will also reach Saaremaa and Hiiumaa people. In Haapsalu and on Hiiumaa and Saaremaa islands we present six concerts with two different programmes: ensemble Heinavanker, performing Kreek's Orthodox church songs in Estonian, and folk singers Meelika Hainsoo, Celia Roose and Lauri Õunapuu singing their arrangements of folk songs from both Kreek's collection as well as from village people of his time.
